Meet Jonathan Delgado!
Johnny is a Training Associate with Bible League, traveling domestically to teach churches how to lead Bible League’s Bible studies. Outside of Bible League, he pastors a church on the south side of Chicago.
His pastor’s heart followed him across the world.
“I had the blessing of traveling to the Philippines on a Bible League staff trip. One of the memories I have is praying for a café owner along with her staff with the Bible League family. After I ordered my beverage, I asked for the owner. The lady was a little bashful – she probably thought I had a complaint, but she was in for a surprise! As a team, we were able to pray for her and her workers, asking God to pour His love over them.”
Back home in the United States, Johnny makes an impact in his local community.
“I pastor a congregation in the south side of Chicago. One of my greatest privileges is serving God by serving people. Walking alongside others and encouraging them is what we are called to do. Since everyday there is a need—or better yet, someone who may need encouragement—I’m learning the importance of being Spirit-filled first to be able to pour into someone else.”
In ministry, a particular verse has impacted him greatly.
Praise the Lord He is my Rock. He prepares me for war. He trains me for battle. He loves me and protects me. He is my safe place high on the mountain. He rescues me. He is my shield. I trust in him. He helps me rule my people. Psalm 144:1-2 ERV
“I believe David’s ability and confidence to go bravely into battles and advance God’s kingdom stemmed from His intimacy with the Lord. He knew he served a trustworthy God and relied on Him. That trust resulted from the many experiences where God proved to be faithful. Our success in carrying out our assignments throughout our lives will be impacted by the relationship we cultivate with Him.“
